Table Tennis (Grp Preliminary) - Hall 6 vs Hall 15

Published by Publications Team | Filed under Table Tennis

Score: 5-0 (Hall 6 Wins)

Some say hall 6 has many table tennis IVPs, but in fact, a more accurate way to describe it is to say that IVP Table Tennis team is almost entirely made up of Sixians!

Once again, Hall 6 has shown this to the world in their first opening game against Hall 15. However, this year, hall 6 has chosen to let some of their non IVP players take the game. Of the IVPs, only Wenhan, Mavis and Seow Hong were sent down to face hall 16

For the mixed doubles, hall 6 sent Mavis with Audrey. The first match was a close fight. Our sixians had difficulty adjusting to hall 15’s uncommon style of playing, the put up a great fight, but still lost the first set. However, they slowly gotten used to hall 15’s style of playing and took the next 3 sets consecutively, winning 3-1

Next come Karl and Melissa. The match was exciting with long rallies and spectacular smashes. But hall 6 had prove to be a notch above them, and clinched all 3 sets.

For the men’s doubles, Nelson and Zhengyan too put up a spectacular match and proved themselves superior to hall 15, winning all 3 sets.

The singles saw both our players being IVP players. Its was a brutal one sided slaughter. The opponent hardly had any fighting chances. However, our players graciously limited their full potential to allow some rally and some playing time for the opponents.

At the end of the day, hall 6 made a clean sweep of 5-0, even when they benched several of their best players! Well done to our hall 6 players.
