Score: 4 – 1 (Hall 6 win)
It was a wonderful morning for Sixians as the badminton players gained a win for its match against Hall 5. The team had a strategic reshuffle of players, and the results were good. The female singles and doubles were won without much difficulty.
The most exciting matches were played by the male doubles and mixed doubles teams. Both teams were faced with tough opponents. The male doubles team of Kok Leong and Kai Jian began their match with a little difficulty, with Hall 5 gaining a lead. But our team quickly caught up with building momentum and was soon leading the game for most of its remainder. Still, Hall 5’s team fought with determination till the end of the match, giving our players a hard time defending their lead.
The mixed doubles was another great match. Both sides were evenly matched. Our mixed double team of Samantha and Hong Lee won the first round, started the second round well, but their opponents got tough and finally beat them. Both teams fought fiercely in the final round. Our team won by a small lead, but the effort put in by Sam and Hong Lee was hardly small.

Though victory for the female single match was easily obtained, Hall 6 players faced very tough competition from the other matches.
Hall 12 presented a great challenge in the male single and female double matches. Kai Jian and the female team of Angie and Melissa fought bravely even when the odds were against them.
Both sides were evenly matched during the male double and mixed double matches. Both competitions were tense and exciting. The Sixian supporters gave all their support. Close as both matches were, our players only managed to clinch a win for mixed double. The male double team put up good competition, preventing Hall 12 from easily gaining their win.
Though we lost, it is only the beginning, and it is only one game. With more games to come, there will be more victories to earn.
